1114 David Miliband Local Member of Parliament becomes Foreign Affairs Secretary

12.30 28.06.2007 Feeling nervous for two reasons. One private and the other going away to London for the weekend. In such situations it is difficult to relax and get on with the everyday things which need doing.

The forecast remains of heavy showers for Sunday afternoon which will potentially ruin the experience but more significantly a severe weather warning has been issued for the whole country over the weekend, which puts into perspective the concert.

David Miliband the South Shields Member of Parliament has become Foreign Secretary and some 20 of 23 positions in the Cabinet have been changed although the majority are switches in roles, thus signalling there is a new Government and new approach. His brother is also in the Cabinet charged with writing the manifesto. There is already a sense of the King is dead long live the King and a sense of a different and new government,

Some things do not change. Henman lost first two sets won next two and then capitulated to another great disappointment for everyone. The Cricketers lost the 20/20 and there are several threats to leave Big Brother.

I managed to do some work, but eat more than planned and should because the weather was cold and wet. Almost ready for the weekend feel certain it will be a great rush panic in the morning because I slept earlier and not tired now. It is 2 am. 29.06.2007
